Week 2 in Piwakawaka Room

It has been another fantastic week in Room 1 and once again I'm blown away with how much we managed to achieve in only 4 days!

This week we began our Statistics Unit and have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to gather and sort data on a range of topics that the children chose. We found out about our favourite ice creams and our favourite animals. We are now able to ask and answer questions about our pictographs, as well as, discuss the results. Room 1 are also VERY good at knowing when I'm trying to trick them by telling them false information about the graph in focus! Next week we will be looking at some simple bar graphs and analysing the information they tell us too.

Here are some photos from this week's activities unit:

On Thursday we also began our Football Programme with the coaches from Petone Football Club. Our first lesson focused on the skill of dribbling. We played two games to help us with this skill and both were fantastic! The first involved dribbling the ball through "gates" and for the second game we all grew a tail. Our job was to stop other people pinching our tail while dribbling at the same time - we were great!

Here are some photos from our first lesson:

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
