Week 4 in Room 1!

It's been another great week in Room 1. I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome Chivan and Claudia to our class - well done on a superb first week at school!

Fridays are proving to be very popular with the children in Room 1. Here are some photos from yesterday:

We thoroughly enjoyed buddy reading with Room 4! We get to chose a book from the library shelf and our older friends at school read them to us in the summer sunshine.

On Fridays, we also develop our skills in Athletics in preparation for Athletics Day in Term 4. Check out our fantastic quoits technique:

 

 

Finally, there was great excitement in the afternoon as we got to try out the newly renovated school pool. I was so impressed with the confidence each student demonstrated being in the water and look forward to the next time we get to swim together. Thank you very much again to all the parent helpers!

The Fun Continues in Room 1!

The last two weeks have been full of learning and fun in Room 1.

We have completed our Statistics Unit and I am so impressed with the effort each child has been putting into mathematics. The students have developed a useful set of skills within this unit of work, such as, the ability to gather and sort data on a range of topics that the children chose. They are now able to ask and answer questions about different types of graphs, as well as, discuss the results. Room 1 are also VERY good at knowing when I'm trying to trick them by telling them false information about the graphs in focus!

We have also started our football programme for Term 1. The children in Room 1 love doing this each Tuesday with Hayden and Simon and I have spotted many future Phoenix players already.

Welcome to 2015!

What a fantastic start to the year we have had in Room 1! It is wonderful how quickly each child is settling into school and I can already see the success each student is going to have throughout the year ahead.
